HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht prepares students for the future with CTOUCH touchscreens
Some partnerships are meant to last. Since 2018, CTOUCH has worked closely together with Hogeschool Utrecht (HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht) to ensure their teachers and students have uniform teaching tools they can trust to be used with ease - today, tomorrow, and for many years to come.
HU University is a vocational university. Utrecht Science Park, HU’s main location, consists of five education and research buildings. Able to accommodate 35,000 students and 3500 staff members, it is of utmost importance that these people can trust teaching solutions to effortlessly perform. The solution in question? CTOUCH touchscreens! Utrecht Science Park is home to a fleet of CTOUCH touchscreens, ready to serve teachers and students in over 500 (growing to 700!) classrooms.

Standardisation became the key for HU University of Applied Sciences to future proof its education. AV equipment is renewed every four to seven years. In practice, this means that each year 100 of the 700 classrooms qualify for the latest AV technology.
This led to the introduction of the next generation of touchscreens, the Riva. The user friendly Riva, with its JBL speakers, excellent writing experience and wireless sharing, was a welcome new presence in the classrooms. For the following generation, HU chose the Riva R2, which further enhanced the user experience of the Riva while retaining all familiar features. It is thanks to this uniformity that no transition issues occurred during the renewal periods.
In addition, the intention is to install the Android Upgrade Module on compatible models. This module brings the same interface and user experience as the Riva R2 to earlier models. There is also a long term plan to transition to the i3CONNECT Studio experience and i3CONNECT Cortex for remote management. This will create a uniform user experience across all classrooms.
Together digital and future proof
Thanks to close collaboration between all stakeholders, HU University of Applied Sciences now has a stable and unified AV environment that is ready for the future. Lecturers and students benefit daily from reliable and intuitive technology, while the IT department enjoys simplified management and maintenance. By choosing standardisation and innovation, HU not only remains prepared for the educational needs of today but also for those of tomorrow.
