Launch of i3CONNECT Studio OPS
i3CONNECT INTRODUCES STUDIO OPS TO EXTEND THE LIFESPAN OF OLDER INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS
Every year, schools and businesses replace interactive displays that still work perfectly well. The hardware is fine, but the software has fallen behind. After five to seven years, most software versions stop receiving updates, become slow and turn into a security risk.
i3CONNECT, the world's most sustainable touchscreen brand, is addressing this challenge with the launch of i3CONNECT Studio OPS. This plug-in PC module gives older interactive displays a fresh start, bringing their software up to date in minutes without replacing the screen.
Studio OPS slides into the standard OPS slot of compatible displays, including the Laser Sky, Laser Nova and Riva 1. Once installed, it brings Android 15, regular security and firmware updates, and access to the complete i3CONNECT software suite. This allows schools and businesses to continue using their existing hardware with an up-to-date, secure software environment.
The best display is the one you already have
Replacing interactive displays represents a significant investment for schools and businesses, particularly when the existing hardware is still fully functional.
By upgrading the software rather than replacing the entire display, Studio OPS helps organisations extend the lifespan of their technology and reduce replacement costs. Teachers and employees can continue using the screens they are familiar with, while benefiting from an updated, secure interface and additional software capabilities.
Studio OPS also unlocks a range of software solutions, all developed in-house at i3CONNECT.
This includes:
- i3CONNECT Whiteboard: a full-featured whiteboard that gives teachers and business users exactly the tools they need for engaging lessons and meetings.
- i3CONNECT AllSync: wireless sharing from any device. AllSync comes free with Studio OPS, giving you an easy alternative to older wireless sharing solutions that may no longer be supported.
- i3CONNECT Cortex: remote device management that allows IT administrators to manage compatible displays centrally, reducing the need for on-site interventions.
All these solutions run on i3CONNECT Studio, the easy-to-use, customisable interface that looks and works the same on all i3CONNECT displays, so everyone in the organisation feels at home right away.
A sustainable choice
Extending the useful life of interactive displays also offers environmental benefits. As manufacturing accounts for a significant share of a display’s environmental footprint, longer product lifespans play an important role in reducing overall impact.
By extending the lifespan of displays already in use with Studio OPS, i3CONNECT demonstrates its ongoing commitment to its existing products and customers. This is in line with its ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Thus, the Studio OPS fulfils an important role within its existing product portfolio, reflecting i3CONNECT's strong devotion to both Sustainability by Design and Security by Design.
